Getting into the Spirit of Fall

As we begrudgingly put our boats in storage and watch the leaves start to change, I can’t help but get excited about pumpkin season! By that, I mean everything associated with pumpkins; Jack-O-Lanterns, various seasonal gourds, scar crows, Halloween costumes and pumpkin pie!

Lucky for us here at Lindy’s Landing, the Hillcrest Pumpkin Patch is in full-swing right down the street. Traditionally, it opens the first weekend of October and last until right before Halloween. The hours of operation are from 10am-5pm. They offer have steam trains, hay rides and have a nature trail nearby.
Unfortunately they can’t allow dogs on the property anymore but they do have a designated play house area for children to explore.

This year, they are doing tours for nearby schools, inviting teachers to bring their students and take a pumpkin home with them while they’re at it. It costs $5/child and is free for chaperones.  It’s a great way to take in what fall has to offer and spend the day with your friends and little ones. They will have some food available as well (corn dogs, tri tip, snow cones) but you are welcome to bring a snack or lunch with you to enjoy in the picnic area.

After you’ve picked out the perfect pumpkin, come back to Lindy’s and show us what you’ve got! Proudly display your carved pumpkins in our office or at your site to light up the shores of the Kings River in a way it’s never seen before! We’ll most certainly look in to that pumpkin pie recipe as well!
If you’d like to be a part of our fall activities (and discounted winter rates), don’t hesitate to give us a call at (559) 897-2885! We hope to see you soon for a ghoulishly good time!
